Hiya, world! My name is Sam and I have been traveling on a budget since I was 18, so essentially I’ve been poor for nearly a decade. #dontcare
I’ve never been one to count the countries I’ve visited, to go to as many countries as possible, to covet stamps in my passport as possible. To me, travel is about the experience. Travel is about immersing myself in cultures and communities where I am a complete stranger. Travel is about feeling slightly uncomfortable. Travel is about getting lost and figuring it out.
Yes, I’ve been to almost all the continents and lived in various countries around the world, but so have many of us. Yes, my passport is my legacy and my most favorite souvenir I own, but it is for many of us. What makes me unique then?
When I was starting my blog, I kept reading that bloggers need to find their niche – what makes the blogger and the blog unique?
What makes me unique – I ask again. Hmmmm, I’ve done some very cool things and want others to do cool things too. To be honest, I have about a million motivating reasons why I am bringing this blog to life. I also have about a million ideas as to what I want to do with travel blogging, a million directions I want to take it. For now, I’m here to be your guidebook on how to be a traveler.
So here I am. My name is Sam. I have traveled the world, I love wine and puppies, and am sometimes overly bubbly. I love mornings and nights and am absolutely willing to sleep less if it means I travel more. I, like many of you, have a classic addiction to travel with experiences ranging from good to bad life choices.
This blog breaks down my travels into 5 categories: The thrifty traveler, the cultural traveler, the middle-class traveler, the thirsty traveler, and the study abroad student. Read personal blog posts, helpful hints, cultural tidbits, history lessons, and more for each one of the travel categories.
I can’t do this without you, thanks for all your support!
